The main places I've written stuff are Medium and Misery Tourism . The latter was before I transitioned and hence does not have my current pronouns in the bio - moreover, I am ambivalent about changing these because so much of my work there is intricately tied to society's requirement I be a man. To view this work through a compensatingly hypermasculine lense should immediately reveal how much is rooted in my hatred for the masculine social norms I am expected to maintain. Largely these stories are sublimation of my own gender dysphoria via various gruesome, disgusting and comedic portrayals of attempts to be masculine.
In terms of my essays, I am most proud of an essay on the most effective coping mechanisms I have personally found for Autism Spectrum Disorder, 'Coexistence in the Land of the Neurotypical' , along with Anonymous Deliverance , an essay on how pre-2010 4chan was de facto anarchist in 'praxis' and my nostalgia for this as a refuge when I was bullied as a child. The essay 'The Sanitisation of the Internet' is in a similar vein with respect to Web 2.0 and corporations taking power from users, though I am not sure I agree with all of its statements anymore. The essay 'estnihil's Guide to Reading, Chronic Anxiety and You I have been complimented on before. This essay aims to help those who find reading daunting or stressful, and aims to teach them to ignore elitist posturing and treat reading, even of philosophy, as purely an enjoyable pastime.
Fetishes and Music is a quick essay where I compare finding new fetishes to learning to enjoy new musical genres. This essay is working off another essay I have written, Fetish Formation: Against Reductionism in which I argue that fetishes are never set in stone, and contrary to some bizarre popular wisdom, it is not difficult to 'Pavlov' oneself into new fetishes.
Finally, I have written an introduction to and analysis of short stories written by Joseph H. Stryker, 'Criminal Realism and Cosmic Indifference: The Writings of Joseph H. Stryker' . This is my first foray into literary criticism, and was a lot of fun to write. I recommend you also take a look at Joseph H. Stryker's work itself.
I do have other essays on Medium, but not all of these are particularly worth reading and may depend on one's personal interests.
In terms of the 'Repressor' fiction posted to Misery Tourism, the 'trilogy' of 'Podcast People' , 'Dream Eater' and 'Ethically Sourced' are all comparable in vitriol and subdued hatred for my own body shown through various 'dark urban fantasy' lenses. The story 'The Gift of Life' is less so, and more focused on subverting 'Christmas stories' in a strange, predator-prey manner.
My medium stories are largely prior to my Misery Tourism stories, although they to some extent vary much more in terms of style. 'Rotten Peacock' is a short grotesque dialogue on inverted hygiene standards. The story 'Audio Normalisation' is likely the best of the Medium stories, inspired by my real life sensory processing difficulties, hatred of noise, and in particular hatred of uncontrollable ear worms. Finally, 'Parasite Competition' explores many of my ambivalency towards wanting to be pitied for events in my life, and a self-caricature of the kinds of jealousy I have felt for others.
